In a team of designers, I worked with JXTAposition Arts to redesign their website for better navigation and more modern layouts. We developed user personas, mapped user flows, and used this information to develop a new site hierarchy and visual layout.

For this project we met with JXTAposition admins and coordinators to better understand their user base and intended audience. With interviews complete we isolated the most commonly discussed user issues:
Site elements could be better arranged for clarity and function.
Movement through the site is stifled and unclear.
Elements of the site are difficult to utilize.
The reuse of elements is inconsistent and confusing.
With these issues in mind, we then moved on to developing a user persona and performing market research of similar websites.
With our main user issues in mind we developed a persona and performed market research of similar websites.
We then developed a main user flow for navigating through the website, documenting typical use cases and progressions. With these documented we began to sketch out more modern versions of the site layouts, keeping in mind the user requests for simplicity and recognizability.
We delivered our reccomendations as well as these wireframes to JXTAposition and their developers.
